Carborundum (coarse grit) is mixed with impasto gel and painted directly on to a perspex plate. Further detail is scratched and etched into the plate using a drypoint tool and sandpaper. Once dried the plate is then inked up, laid on the press bed with the paper and pulled through the press to create the print. I was awarded a microgrant from Yorkshire Artspace to create this series of prints, along with help from printmaker Neil Woodall. Limited edition of 20, each print is highly unique because of my messy painterly approach to printmaking! Printed on Somerset Velvet paper. Inspired by Gritstone of the Peak District.
