Falling into abandon
Illustration for Claire Carter's article 'To Abandon' published in Alpinist Magazine issue no. 57 This is my favorite of the series of illustrations I did for the article. Drawing on Claire’s lucid style of writing I wanted to reflect the connectedness of the story, the often dreamlike quality of the experience she puts across. The visual contrast of the man falling among feathers is indicative of the sense of abandonment, the conflicting lightness and terror that comes with this freedom.
